Over 20 thousand residents and guests of Perm took part in ecofest «Nature of the city»

The festival took place on the city esplanade. Additional locations were located in the   Mindovski park,  the Chekhov park  and other natural areas of the city.

The Ecological festival “Nature of the city” was held  in Perm over the past weekend. The event brought together environmental experts, activists, volunteers and residents interested in nature conservation. The festival became an open platform for discussing topical environmental issues, and also allowed to involve a large number of residents in environmental practices. One of the festival’s goals is to increase people’s responsibility for the state of nature of the city.

The city Esplanade became  main platform of the event was the city esplanade, which for two days of the festival worked as an educational and interactive platform. Guests and residents of the city took part in master classes, quests, quizzes, discussions and seminars. In addition, anyone could participate in more than 20 eco-volunteer practices: creating protected areas, planting plants in the valleys of small rivers, installing birds and insects' houses, helping animal shelters.

Thus, within the framework of the business programme, 8 events were organised on the theme of creation of public spaces in natural territories, urban greening, environmental education, optimization of industrial enterprises' production processes. More than 500 people took part in the workshops  during the festival on the esplanade, and 1,500 participants  involved in an educational action on  waste separation  and conscious consumption. About  3,000 people participated in eco-practices, where modern forms of ecological interaction with nature were presented. The volunteer action “Ecovolunteer”, brought together 191 participants in 22 events.

The total number of participants of the ecological festival «Nature of the city» amounted to  20,028. The event was organised by   the administration of Perm and “The Perm Park” and is part of  the 300-year anniversary of Perm celebration.
